DATA & REPORTING SERVICES ANALYST

The Peer Group, Inc., a leading medical marketing provider, is seeking a dynamic and energetic professional who loves to manipulate lots of data and wants to take ownership of and develop a reporting infrastructure and services function, beginning with the organization and importation of data through reporting back to the business users. Working closely with the Director of Analytics and IT, qualified individual will lead in the development of reporting platforms and technology while simultaneously serving data-hungry end users in business development, client services, operations and business analytics.
Responsibilities will include:
1.Manage, develop, configure and customize (as required) the reporting infrastructure/system(s) for the company, specifically SQL Reporting Services along with 3rd party Dashboard software.
2. Manage the extraction, transformation, and population of data files and databases (SQL Server, Excel, Access, and other database formats).
– As part of this function, will be responsible for the list cleansing and importation of client target files and matching to proprietary internal databases
– May be called upon to assist in the development of complicated reporting or analytical constructs.
3. Spearhead / project manage major reporting platform changes. Develop project plans, track progress, report status, coordinate team tasks and activities to achieve the desired results.
4. Participate in the development of reporting standards within the company. Create and maintain documentation related to the environment, configuration, new release notes, access and use of the reporting platform and related tools.
5. Design, code, test and debug custom queries, complex reports and business logic for stored procedures using Microsoft T-SQL and SQL Reporting Services per defined technical specifications.
6. Provide technical consulting and support to application, data base, reporting and Business Analytics teams in their use of the reporting platform and related tools.
7. Serve as a technical resource and member on various teams - central reporting, database, and Business Analytics teams, aiding in their execution of data projects.
8. Adhere to a modified SDLC as part of the development activities - requirements, design, development, validation / QA, implementation, production.
Education and Experience:
ŸBachelor's degree in business, computer science, other MIS-related field or equivalent years experience.
ŸAt least three years in data analysis and software development utilizing T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server data base, SQL Reporting Services.
ŸMinimum 1 year reporting platform management experience.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
ŸStrong abilities with the tools utilized in data analysis and related software implementation (SQL Server Enterprise Manager, Visual Studio.Net, etc.).
– Solid experience writing complex SQL queries (joins, subqueries, stored procedures)
– Extreme comfort with relational data models.
ŸMust be highly capable of handling challenging IT/data system and file manipulation and integration.
ŸExceptional problem solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills to be able to resolve issues during the product development cycle.
ŸFamiliarity with Entity Relationship and Functional Hierarchy Diagrams.
ŸProven ability to work independently, around a set of defined objectives and priorities, and achieve results required.
ŸMust have strong communication skills (oral, written), and be an effective technical consultant with other technical, decision support and business teams.
ŸA solid understanding of data structures, relational databases is expected.
ŸAbility to work independently and be part of a team.
