Data Warehouse Architect / Developer

Ramp Group is looking to hire a Data Warehouse Architect / Developer to join our team of talented and motivated individuals in architecting cutting edge solutions for our clients’ dynamic and growing businesses.  The ideal candidate is skilled in the complete data warehouse lifecycle and is knowledgeable in Kimball’s data warehouse methodologies.  

 

Ramp Group is a small consulting company located in Bellevue, WA.  We specialize in full development life cycle services ranging from user requirements analysis, user interface design and product usability evaluation to technical design, development, test, and deployment.  Our employees are highly skilled in developing solutions from large-scale enterprise-class database and Web-based applications to client-side consumer software. 

 

Essential Duties:

· Conduct business user interviews to identify business processes, facts, calculations, dimensions, and hierarchies; identify the primary business processes and develop a prioritized bus matrix

· Conduct data discovery analysis with IS to identify data sources for the data warehouse

· Analyze, document and review interview results – develop prioritized requirements and project scope

· Logical and physical database design

· Star scheme design

· Dimensional database modeling

· Design and development of ETL for:

o Transaction System to Data Mart

o Transaction System to Staging

o Staging to Data Warehouse

o Data Warehouse to Data Mart

· Familiar with the creation and usage of cubes.

· Rapidly develop, test & validate SQL 2005 Reporting Services reports.

· Create & validate complex SQL queries in SQL Server 2000 & 2005 environment.

· Provide user training and support as required

· Document reports clearly, completely, concisely, and in accordance with prevailing documentation standards.

 

Desired Technical Skills/Experience:

· At least 5-8 years experience architecting, designing and building large, highly scalable, high availability data warehouse solutions.

· Demonstrated capacity to work within agile software development life cycles.

· Bachelors or Masters Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.

· Professional certifications are a plus.

Non-Technical Skills/Experience:

· Ability to understand how technology decisions translate into business value, and the maturity to avoid the adoption of technology for technology’s sake.

· Ability to write clear and concise documentation.

· Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills combined with a professional demeanor and team oriented interpersonal skills.

· Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
