Data Warehouse ETL Developer

ETL work to EXTRACT flat files coming into two staging tables, TRANSFORM the data, and LOAD the transformed data into three Data Marts.  The Data Marts are then used to create aggregated data that serves as the source data for a collection of Cognos reports.

 

Areas of Responsibility:

Participation in the following areas of the SDLC and ability to take the lead when called on:Design and documentation – Work with Project/Technical Lead to design a solution that meets business requirements while consistent with technical vision, high-level design, standards and best practices. Construction – Construction of the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process using Informatica and SQL scripting and data cleansing processes.Testing – Build unit test scripts and testing of code against use-cases created by business analyst and performance/volume test.Participate in writing and/or revision of program documentation, application operational procedures in accordance with standards and client needs. Effectively utilize documentation and code version control.

 

Technical Skills/Computer:

· 4+ years of full life cycle development

· 2+ years SQL coding

· 2+ years of Data Warehousing experience

· Oracle, Netezza, and or DB/2 RDBMS a significant plus

· 2+ years in ETL Informatica experience

· 2+ years of deep UNIX Shell Scripting

 

Technical Skills/Other:A significant plus if experience or exposure to the following:Informatica PowerCenterNetezza appliance

 Education/Experience:Excellent oral and written skills is a mustBS in Information Technology or equivalent
