Position Title: Data Warehouse and BI Analyst/Developer

Position Purpose:

The Data Warehousing Analyst is primarily responsible for the creation and maintenance of the data warehouse. This position works closely with the data warehouse development team, customers and other colleagues in the IT department to analyze operational data sources, determine data availability, define the data warehouse schema and develop ETL processes for the creation and maintenance of the data warehouse. This position is also responsible to insure that the data warehouse delivers actionable data via Cognos BI toolset as well as the Cognos CPM tools (Controller, Planning and Forecasting).  This position works at a very high technical level as a key integrator of data and access tools.

100% Datawarehouse Architecture/Infrastructure:

• Evolve key business data models such as accounting, asset management, hotel operations and  property management to meet new and changing business requirements.
• Develop, test, manage, schedule and document data warehouse operations and tasks including extraction, movement, loading, security, backup, and aggregate table creation.
• Implement automatic and semi-automatic processes for incremental refresh of the data warehouse.
• Provide detailed plans to accomplish approved projects.
• Design conceptual and logical models for the data warehouse or data mart.
• Migrate existing database into SQL Server 2005
• Weekly Report status to project lead, as requested, and reacts immediately to any potential delays.


Education and Experience:
BA/BS in Computer Science or similar with a minimum of 3+ years experience in the following:  Staging, ODS, and dimensional modeling for OLAP database. Understanding cubing and Business Intelligence applications such as Cognos ReportNet and Cognos Powerplay are a plus.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to project lead.
