Position Profile Performs Database Administration for the existing ORACLE instances at IKON.Job Duties and Responsibilities Installs and upgrades RDBMS, iAS, E-Business Suite for OLTP, REPORT, EDW servers and ORACLE EMAIL server as per business needs.Maintains and supports current environments through the regular clones, applying patches and installing custom code.Performs regular DBA activities to ensure all the instances are stable and available to the end users as advertised.Works on Remedy problem tickets as assigned.Performs daily performance monitoring and provides assistance to the functional teams for the TAR support.Provides weekend and off hours support.Creates new users, UNIX file systems as required by the development team.Troubleshoots problems experienced by end users and fixes the issues as per standards defined.Performs other duties as assigned by Senior DBAs.Maintains and supports current environments.Applies patches as per the change control process in the environments.Periodically clones the instances as per the business requirements.Installs custom code on various instances based on the change control process.Follows change control process for any changes made to the database.Works with the INC and IDC for any activities that could affect either of these areas.Issues trouble-shooting.Resolves questions and problems related to ORACLE issues in all instances by performing basic troubleshooting.Works with Senior DBA on complex database-related issues.Works with the INC and IDC for any activities that could affect either of these areas.Installs and upgrades ORACLE-related software.Installs and upgrades existing application and RDBMS-related software by following the existing procedures.Configures new and changes existing configurations, database-related parameters and application-related parameters in the technology stack.Performance monitoring for all the instances.Executes performance monitoring scripts; identifies and solves issues.Executes performance-related database maintenance activities such as gathering Schema stats, rebuilding indexes, reorganizing database objects, etc and monitoring scripts.In database sizing, determines the distribution of tables in the table spaces, and sets up storage parameters for the tables and indexes.Utilizes Remedy for call tracking.Makes comprehensive use of Remedy to track internal customer requests.Responsible for timely acknowledgement of tickets.Keeps work log updated.Responsible for resolution of issues.Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications) Requires technical degree, certification or equivalent experience.Requires 5 years of IT experience with relational databases, primarily thorough knowledge of ORACLE technologies, 11i Applications (11.5.8 and higher for ERP and CRM) 9i Database (9.2.0.3 and higher), in terms of installation, maintenance, configuration and tuning databases.Requires thorough knowledge of UNIX, mainly AIX 5.2 and higher based systems.Experience with RAC server configurationsKnowledge of copier and office solution industry a plus Apply On-line IKON is an Equal Opportunity Employer, M/F/D/V.
