ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Database Technician works as part of the Production Operations team using the OCI toolset and standard SQL or other querying and reporting tools to develop and or ensure delivery of data solutions to clients.

· EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information   Systems/Computer Information Systems, or closely related technical field

 

· EXPERIENCE: N/A

 

· MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-  Minimum knowledge and experience with SQL and UNIX

-  Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Performs queries, extracts, and transforms on data from incoming data feeds and existing databases

2.  Monitors receipt and quality of incoming data to ensure all customer data feeds arrive as appropriate

3.  Ensures that quality checks are implemented and recorded on all data sources in accordance with SLAs and/or internal schedules

4.  Maintains records and owns internal communications on quality and timeliness of incoming data

5.  Interfaces with data vendors to manage data source quality and timeliness

6.  Documents data flows and production data management processes 

7.  Maintains documentation on dependencies and schedules for inbound data sources and outbound production deliverables

8.  Ensures that OCI has accurate data layouts and contact information for all data sources

9.  Completes analysis and provides customized extracts or reports to customers

10. Produces ad hoc and semi-automated data deliverables

11. Conducts data assessments for new inbound or outbound data deliverables

12. Other duties assigned as needed
