Dell Hardware TechnicianWork Description: Hardware Technician responsible for installation, repair and preventative maintenance of Dell Desktop/laptops and loading of corporate XP Windows OS Images. Requires troubleshooting of software/hardware issues on XP Operating Systems, maintaining repair logs, engaging Dell for warranty repairs and performing in-house repairs for non-warranty hardware. In addition candidate will backup and assist with inventory management processes, including dispensing deployable machines to Level 2 technicians and surplus equipment removal.Candidate Must: Be Dell Certified Hardware Technician Minimum 5 years experience maintaining Dell hardware Expert understanding of Dell hardware and diagnostics Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills Understanding of operating systems (Windows NT, Windows XP) Experienced with Microsoft Office products including WORD and EXCEL The ability to lift and move commonly used computer equipment.Soft skills required include: Ability to work independently Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task. Working level knowledge of Dell Warranty processing, Dell Parts Direct, Diagnostic utilities (how to use & when to apply) Basic understanding of LAN topology with some exposure to wire management.
