The desktop support position is responsible for building and maintaining all of Vesta’s desktop and laptop computers, for providing requisite inventory data and documentation, as well as being the primary support contact for our call center and corporate staff. The Desktop Support III position serves as supervision and coordination for all desktop support staff. Opportunities for career advancement and learning new skills are excellent.The desktop support position includes the following duties:Primary contact for build and deployment of all call center and corporate workstations and laptopsPrimary contact for maintenance and hardware and software troubleshooting for all workstations and laptopsPrimary contact for end-user supportSome telco administration (new user and phone setups for call center and corporate staff)Rotating on-call responsibility: on-call for 24 hours a day for 7 subsequent days, approximately every 8 weeksThe Desktop Support III position includes the following additional duties:Supervisory oversight of local and remote desktop support staffPrimary responsibility for coordination and communication of desktop support subject matter and performanceRequired Skills/Experience:Supervisory, management, or team lead experience in the desktop support field2-year degree from technical institution or equivalent industry experienceExcellent knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Windows support, including XP Professional and 2000/2003 ServerExcellent knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office suite (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Excellent interpersonal skillsDesirable:Knowledge of and experience with basic Ethernet networking Knowledge and experience with LinuxKnowledge and experience with Linux and Apple MacintoshCertifications: No certifications are required for this position, although Microsoft and Cisco certifications are desirableSalary commensurate with experience.
