Desktop Support Technician

Position will provide installation and repair support for computer operations. The primary tasks will be to set up, configure and install desktop computers. Technician must be able to troubleshoot issues with the installations and resolve based on experience and skills. Position requires a minimum of 5 years experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications in a networked business environment. The technician serves as the primary technical point of contact for computer replacement projects, and must be able to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Must be able to work with customers and provide resolution of their computer issues, with minimal direct supervision. Needs to be responsible, established individual capable of understanding the organizational dynamics of the business environment and base their actions and decisions on the situation. Should be capable of working on a change driven project where customers may be reluctant to adopt new processes.

 

Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years experience providing desktop and peripheral device support in a business environment.

- Experience with installing and troubleshooting PC hardware, software, PC operating systems, and other applications (MS Office suite, McAfee antivirus, etc.)

- Ability to perform all aspects of supporting PCs and associated peripheral devices (printers, video conference devices, etc.) including troubleshooting, repair, and installation.

- Basic knowledge of LANs and capable of assessing and resolving basic network connectivity issues.

- Will be required to travel between various locations; must provide personal transportation.

- Must be able to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds.

- Must be detail oriented, organized, and manage personal work schedule to meet project deadlines.

- Outstanding communication and business skills required. Must be able to work with diverse customers in sensitive environment involving changes in business processes.

 

Educational Requirements:

- A Plus Certification preferred but not required
