Intermec is currently seeking a Development Manager, Information Technology at Everett, WA location.Lead the IT Applications Development team in all phases of analysis, model, design, implementation and support decisions. Directs the activities including Web design, .Net, SAP ABAP and Business Intelligence, and SQL DB development. Provides leadership and direction in defining, developing and managing per development best practices and standards. Responsible for managing company-wide support for all business applications, business applications training and information retrieval of data from all technology platforms. Supports the critical business goals by promoting appropriate use of information resources and technology to influence business strategy by providing access to information necessary to drive the business and leverage business performance; by providing training and support to the functional organizations in creating, standardizing, manager and sharing the corporate information asset through corporate information utilities and tools; and by achieving competitive advantage through informationTHIS JOB MUST BE CARRIED OUT IN COMPLIANCE WITH INTERMEC’S STANDARDS OF CONDUCT.JOB DESCRIPTION - Organization Management and Planning1. Participate in the development of the IT strategic plan in support of corporate goals and objectives2 Assist IT Sr. Manager in developing the annual operating and capital budgets.3. Assist IT Sr. Manager and management team in planning and executing process re-engineering.4. Develop the organization that will effectively support the business and ensures succession planning at all levels in the organization.5. Keep close to customers and partners through regular planning and review meetings.6. Develop and report a system of development metrics for monitoring and improving develop cycle time.7. Work with Infrastructure on capacity planning, disaster recovery of technology architecture, and system design.8. Must remain aware of regulatory responsibilities and remain current in technical areas including Sarbanes Oxley.Personnel Management/Development1. May manage the programming and systems activities of assigned Designer Analysts.2. Monitor development plans of direct reports and provide regular feedback regarding progress, ensuring cross training of staff..3. Build depth and breadth of experience of the staff through various methods including mentoring, regular one-on-one meetings, planned seminars, brainstorming activities and reativity sessions.4. Provides leadership and direction in defining, developing, and managing per development best practices and standards. 5. Manage necessary design reviews with development staff.Project Management1. Manage multiple projects and assist multiple user project managers in diverse technology projects.2. Establish and review project schedules and deliverables.3. Keep management, business, other IT technical departments and team members informed of project status and implementation activities to ensure smooth transition to production.4. Provide guidance to staff in project management, including improving current processes, working towards standardization and consistent delivery of high quality work products5. Set expectations for project deliverables and schedules.6. Participate in review of Functional Specifications with user community to verify requirements are being satisfied.SKILLS:1. SAP ERP 6.0 ABAP, BI 7.0, .Net 2.0, SQL DB, Visual Basic, ASP skills required. 2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 3. Excellent project management skills. 4. Flexible and adaptable in a highly dynamic work environment where multiple priorities and deadlines exist.EXPERIENCE:1. 7-8 years of Information Technology and/or Systems Project Management in a Business Environment, with a minimum of 3-5 years managerial experience, supervising people, budgeting and input into strategic planning.2. Knowledgeable in project management techniques, forms, and procedures. 3. Knowledge of multiple programming languages, software, and hardware, including: Java, XML, SAP ABAP, SAP BI, .Net, SQL DB, Visual Basic, ASP, and Microsoft Office Applications. 4. Ability to provide analytical thinking related to project and project logic. 5. IT development background. 6. Expertise in the management and motivation of IT technical teams. 7. Expertise in hiring, training, managing, coaching, mentoring and evaluating IT technical teams. 8. Experience in rapid iterative software development methodologies.EDUCATION:1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area or equivalent education/experience in the computer science field2.
