Director Payroll Applications and Configuration
Position Overview:
This position will be a leader in directing the Comcast Payroll Applications Department. Leadership duties include decision making, acclimation to change, department oversight, guidance and mentoring, staff professional and technical development, and the vision to anticipate future changes and requirements. In addition to leadership skills, the position should possess strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of SAP HCM application functionality and configuration.
This leader of the Payroll Application team will be responsible for the organization and prioritization of the ongoing application support; including day-to-day activities, critical and timely solutions, application support, as well as standard and adhoc reporting and auditing informational needs. Additional responsibilities include project management, as well as mentoring and leading the Payroll Applications team through all aspect of the project life cycle. This position will work closely with internal and external customers and departments involved in supporting both the technical and functional aspects of the SAP application; including active participation on the SAP Governance Board.
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Direct Payroll Application Technical support staff
Develop team approach, including mentoring, performance monitoring, and ongoing professional development
Manage and oversee projects, coordination of project resources, on time on budget
Review and approve project work plans and develop functional and technical documentation
Collaboration and open communicate with Finance, CET, Human Resources, Recruiting; Benefits, Learning Management, as well as other areas impacted by the application and associated maintenance where appropriate
Provide direction and an understanding of the SAP application payroll functionality and configuration
Provide direction and an understanding of SAP's CATS functionality configuration
Support Finance and Payroll informational and reporting needs
Ensure confidentiality of all employee and company private information
Assist in the accurate preparation for departmental budgeting needs.
Provide and coordinate SAP application support for Payroll; development of SLA with all SAP internal and external partners
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
BA/BS/BBA required. SAP knowledge is required and must be highly focused, possessing in-depth knowledge of the capabilities w/in the assigned area. SAP HCM Certification is a plus. Minimum 3 years experience in business and/or functional departments is required with a minimum of 1-3 years of combined SAP implementation and post production support experience is required.
COMMUNICATIONS: Strong oral, written and presentation skills needed.
PROBLEM-SOLVING: Must have the ability to analyze complex business processes and make sound business decisions, both in centralized and decentralized environments.
Must have the following:
- Minimum 5 years staff management experience
- Solid project management skills & experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills is a must
- Minimum 3 years of combined SAP hands-on Payroll and Time Management configuration, implementation and post production support experience (R/3 4.7, ECC 5.0 or above)
- Requires a Bachelors degree with 5-7 years functional experience in designing, building, and implementing IT Applications
