Director of Sales

DIRECTOR OF SALES

Applied Information Systems is an advanced technology company that designs, builds and implements customized technology solutions for real world business needs.  We focus on developing value-added solutions for medium size and enterprise-class businesses. As a single source provider for complete networking requirements, we focus on a wide range of specialty areas including core networking, IP telephony, network security, advanced wireless infrastructure, storage networks and Microsoft enterprise solutions.  We are currently searching for the right person to join our team as the Director of Sales at our Chesterfield, Missouri location.

The Director of Sales will hold the overall responsibility for the sales effort performed for Applied Information Systems (AIS).  The position will create and implement sales plans to maximize overall company sales and profit goals. This person will hire and manage our Sales team, create, communicate and monitor sales goals for the Account Managers. The Director will teach and train Account Managers to improve their skills and prepare them for the next level. This professional with interface with Marketing to create an effective mix of sales and marketing activities, which can increase sales. The role will require interfacing with Engineering/Operations to maximize effective project execution. Provide strategic input and direction as a member of the company’s management team aimed at maximizing profit margin in conjunction with maximizing sales volume. Due to our smaller sized sales group it should be noted that the Director of Sales will manage own sales effort as well as the performance of other Account Managers.

Key activities will include:

• Develop and manage multi- C –level relationship at each of the assigned accounts, to develop trusted advisor relationships as a valued business partner.

• Serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, partnering with internal and external resources to achieve sales and other key sales objectives.

• Manage the sales team. Manage execution of daily activities and initiatives throughout the entire sales cycle from lead generation to close of sale, including timely payment of invoice.

• Generate new business by developing leads and/or expanding existing accounts.

• Work with engineering team to provide innovative technical solutions and/or projects proposals

• Provide business plans and timely, accurate reporting to management.

• Develop short and long term sales strategies and plan for building sales funnel.

• Develop and maintain written account plans for strategic key accounts.

• Analyze the market and customer requirements to identify the most compelling opportunities and strategies in key areas.

• Be a key participant in the development of long-term strategies - including product/services positioning, pricing, channels, and communications to maximize sales, profits, and customer relationships (key player of the AIS management team).

• Foster productive relationships with key partners including Cisco, NetApp, VMWare, etc. Coordinate and attend strategic technology conventions and exhibitions throughout the year

 

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of sales management experience preferred

• BA/BS Required

• Proven track record of success in Sales and Sales Team Management in a high growth model company (preferably IT industry)

• Must have experience selling technology solution (Cisco, Microsoft, storage, virtualization, etc.)

• Ability to prioritize, motivate and delegate work in high-demand setting

• Strong business acumen, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sales presentations

• Experience handling multiple sales issues simultaneously, regardless of the Sales Cycle phase

• Ability to work independently and exercise solid critical decision making skills

•  Proven sales record in IT or related industry
