Director of Technologies - Project Management

 

Primary duties:

PMO Process:  Develop an enterprise standard framework for project management. Define and design the templates for project management artifacts. 

 

Portfolio Management: Serve as the steward for the consolidated technology project portfolio. Provide assistance to the CIO in managing projects and programs from the investment perspective.  This will include developing and administering the Investment Decisioning Process.

 

Quality & Process: Coordinate direct reports to the CIO to establish processes for monitoring how well TMA Technologies staff perform against project expectations. This involves defining best practices, establishing key metrics, benchmarks, improvement feedback loops. Note: may be asked on occasion to manage small projects.

 

Education & Communication:  Establish project management as a core discipline for Thornburg. Organize and lead the PM Community of Practice across the company. Create or coordinate appropriate project management training programs.  Drive communication both internal and external to TMA Technologies regarding project management. 

 

Requirements:

-Current certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is required.

-Experience in business process reengineering and total quality management.

-Four year college degree from college or university

-Continuing education annually related to functional area of specialization

-Continuing education within past 15 months related to general leadership

-Minimum 3 years as a Technology Manager, or equivalent position.

-Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.

-Broad understanding of the mortgage business and industry strategies.

-Has experience in performance management of staff

-Basic knowledge of financial management and accounting

-Must demonstrate personal accountability
