Job Category:Data Warehouse Professional Primary Location:USA-VA: VIRGINIA-FALLS CHURCHSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Regular Employee Status:Regular Yes, 50 % of the Time Job Posting: 03/17/2008Description: Essential Job Functions Informatica ETL architect will be responsible for development and design of the ETL environment, including software, hardware and integration. The Architect will define the ETL framework and development templates, consistent ETL standards, configuration management strategies and production deployment standards. Architect will provide technical direction and guidance to analysts and developers, and will lead and participate in design reviews, and provide mentoring for junior level ETL developers. Establishes and enforces data warehousing standards at the client site to meet client requirements and business needs. Determines data warehousing strategy; selects tools and techniques, including middleware, data cleansing tools, and/or data management systems to provide the solution to data and client issues and other matters of significance and to meet business needs. Conducts research into new data warehouse applications and determines viability for adoption. Evaluates existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse and determines where data should be stored. May assist in one or more components of the overall architecture of the data warehouse system. Basic Qualifications ETL development experience (strongly preferred in Informatica) in the latest releases, and be knowledgeable and experienced in best practices design of ETL implementations in a high volume environment, including ETL software, database and hardware tuning.Applicant should be knowledgeable and experienced in all types of data modeling, including strong dimensional modeling techniques. Applicant should be experienced with ETL development (Informatica strongly preferred) in a very large Database environment. Experience with data quality tools and knowledgeable in data quality approaches and techniques Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in data management, computer science, or related field preferred Four or more years of experience in data management or computer programming Experience working with relational databases Experience working with programming concepts Experience working with company database and statistical software Experience working with data warehousing standards, strategies, and tools Other Qualifications Personal computer and business solutions software skills Good communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and support personnel Analytical and problem solving skills for selecting data tools and resolve data warehousing issues Good skills in data administration, repository management, and data warehousing Ability to work independently and as part of a team Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:None Create Success
