Electrical Engineer / Designer

 

You will be working in the R&D wing of Rajant Corporation, a broadband wireless networking communications company.  Rajant currently develops and produces wireless mesh networks for Military, Emergency Response, and Industrial communities.  You will assist in the packaging of new systems and providing sustaining engineering as required on existing products.

 

 

Job Description:

 

Design and co-develop analog and or digital circuitry for existing and new wireless products for the military and heavy commercial environment.

Supports the evaluation and selection of new suppliers.

Initiates informal reviews of ideas and technical objectives within and across business units.

Initiates informal reviews of ideas and technical objectives with peers.

Applies high degree of ingenuity using broad parameters for foundation of decisions.

 

BS in Electrical Engineering or related plus 2 to 4 years relevant experience.

 

Essential skills:

 

- Broad knowledge base of all aspects of electrical design

- Capable of designing printed circuit boards and supporting manufacturing in production issues

- Assist in troubleshooting existing electrical designs

 

Desirable Skills:

- Knowledge of RF and wireless communications

- Knowledge of portable and battery powered applications

- Experience with Linux operating systems

- Familiar with FCC, UL, CE, RoHS, NEMA as related to wireless electronics

- Create new or modify existing products and systems

- Component/System-level electrical design

- Develop electrical project proposals and associated cost estimates

- Compose design/test specifications

- CAD Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools: Solidworks, AutoCAD

- Familiar with Orcad Schematic/Layout EDA tools.

- Visio, MSWord, and MSExcel.

- Familiar with EMC/Safety product design requirements as related to wireless products

- Familiar with wireless networking concepts and computer data networks
