Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities:  Senior level systems administration with a focus on operations for storage, backups and servers in a heterogenous and complex environment. Must be experienced with one of the following multiple server operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows).  Must be knowledgeable in SAN, NAS, fiber fabric, and ISCSI setup and configuration, storage operations and configurations especially allocation of SAN/NAS storage. Responsible for ensuring entire data center is backed up. Responsible for system monitoring.

Requirements/Education: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent. Typically a minimum of six plus years of technical experience in server, network or system operations including direct experience in a medium sized server environment or larger. Must possess demonstrated knowledge and application of advanced concepts and practices in two or more server operating systems, server hardware, file system concepts and management. Broad cross-disciplinary perspective with demonstrated competency in two or more of key IT technologies (e.g., server operating systems, network, storage/SAN, system backups, security, telephony, Internet-based infrastructure, public facing systems). Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with integration of storage, data communications/ networking, and security implementation. Expererience with the following is preferred: NetApp filers, LTO technology, and Symantec NetBackup software.
