Day to Day Work THIS POSITION TO BE LOCATED ANYWHERE IN THE U.S. WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE TO A UNISYS FACILITY.The Employee Labor Relations Consultant responsibilities include: Provide a subject matter expert in employee and labor relations consulting, counsel and advice, to Human Resources and management as appropriate. Provide consulting on policy development, interpretation and training for remote and onsite workforces Influence the development, review and evaluation of programs and other operational change decisions that affect the workplace. Keep abreast of emerging HR/ER practices, and develop and deliver as training best practices programs including positive management practices, employment law awareness and maintaining a respectful workplace. Participate and contribute, as appropriate, to business unit HR staff meetings. - Communicate effectively; demonstrating both speaking and listening skills. - Work across organizational boundaries in a site-based and virtual environment. Travel requirements: 10% Technical & Behavioral Skills 57 years as a Human Resources Generalist with experience in employee relations and knowledge of employment law; ideally in organizations with a sizable non-exempt workforce. BA degree or equivalent, an MA degree and/or Labor Relations experience a plus. HR certification preferred. Experience working in partnership with HR Law and the Ethics Office (or organization equivalents) to help managers build strong working relationships with their employees; provided counsel, advice and support to Human Resources and managers regarding policy, regulated employment activities, organizational change and labor contract interpretation; provided counsel and/or coaching to employees and line managers regarding employee relations issues in the U.S. geographic area. Conducted investigations regarding employee misconduct; conducted workplace employee/management relations assessments and reviewed, developed and/or implemented employee/labor relations-related programs and policies. Reviewed reduction-in-force, performance and disciplinary recommendations to ensure compliance with company policy, past practice and employment law; and assisted in conducting governmental compliance audits.
