WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION?Create new and/or modify existing software and databases to meet business requirements including intranet site development, as well as the design, coding, testing, implementing, and formal acceptance of business solutions Make modifications to existing code Analyze the business/system requirements and develop technical specifications for business applications Provide high level design solutions, problem resolution, long-term maintenance, and enhancement services for custom developed business applications using Enterprise development tool-sets Research and apply new technology trends as it relates to the End User Computing (EUC) development environment

WHAT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION?Need to have working knowledge of the following technologies/concepts: JavaScript; cascading style sheets (CSS); XML; HTML; Visual Basic; Active Server Pages (ASP); ADO; SQL/Transact-SQL; COM/MTS; Windows XP Operating System including Microsoft Access

ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONSeeking a qualified database and web application developer. Candidate will work from the Charlottesville Operations Center as part of a team that creates innovative data-driven web applications to support business processes in State Farm s Mid-Atlantic Zone. This position will make extensive use of Visual Studio 2005, the ASP.NET 2.0 framework, and SQL Server 2005 (T-SQL). Other technologies include VB.NET, ASP, HTML, CSS, and Microsoft Office. We are looking for someone who is experienced in many phases of web application development, including analysis of business workflows, database design, application development, testing, implementation, documentation, and support. Candidate should be comfortable working directly with end users in the project and development cycles, and skilled in building effective working relationships with team members and business partners.
