Enterprise Middle-Tier Developer

Experienced middle-tier analyst/developer for the data services department.  A middle-tier analyst is an expert at working reviewing existing data transmission techniques such as file transfers and finding ways to move these over to technologies such as message queues for guaranteed delivery of data.  We want someone that can work with our partner companies to understand their capabilities and develop very closely integrated data exchange mechanisms with them.

 

The ideal candidate will have been a database developer with experience with databases such as Microsoft SQLServer, Oracle, PostgreSQL or other similar database.  Having come from a database development background, the ideal candidate will have a passion for creating data solutions for the customers and then switching hats to be a top-notch developer to make that solution a reality.  The candidate must be able to “think” data, message queues, and APIs when discussing business issues, then rapidly design new processes and dataflows rapidly.  So, if your mind can easily envision taking a data file of 100,000 records, applying these rows into a message queue, and then even popping the rows back off of the message queue for those partners not yet message queue ready, you are on the right track for working with us.  Clarity of thought, simplicity of design, master developer skills, and strong communication and presence to convince senior level business users that your solution meets their needs are attributes that are important to us.

 

Technologies that we currently use include IBM MQ Series, Tibco, REST Webservices, SOAP Webservices, XML, SSIS ETL tool, SQLServer2005, Oracle10, Greenplum data warehouse, PostGreSQL, PHP, .NET, C#, IIS, Windows, Linux, Apache, and Solaris.  However, we are not limited to these and are constantly exploring new and better solutions.  Your recommendations will be welcomed in our environment!
