We are Smith & Nephew.DescriptionReporting to the Vice President of Client Services, the enterprise PMO Director leads the project manager group. This position is responsible for successful global project execution using a standard, repeatable methodology. The PMO Director manages enterprise project portfolios, project management training, process development, governance, testing activities, tool development and implementation. The PMO Director is responsible for global project demand and investment management review processes and supports executive management with project performance management analyses and status reporting. The PMO Director leads the global project manager group and serves as a senior liaison between project management teams and executives business project sponsors. The PMO Director works in a highly collaborative, environment responsible for demonstrating a strong entrepreneurial thought leadership in managing projects and programs enabling transformational business strategies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.•Direct and professionally develop the global project manager group.•Ensure enterprise and GBU project portfolios are delivered on-time, on-target and on-budget•Develop, implement and govern project management and delivery methodologies.•Support enterprise and GBU demand and investment management processes.•Track enterprise and GBU portfolio performance; report status and material variances to executive management.•Monitor enterprise and GBU portfolios for dependencies and conflicts; facilitate resolution of scope, schedule and resource conflicts.•Conduct project phase gate reviews ensuring all required deliverables are complete.•Coordinate portfolio change management processes ensuring all project scope changes are visible, analyzed, reviewed, documented and communicated.•Lead continuous improvement initiatives for project management processes, skills, competencies and tools. •Recruit, develop, retain and motivate a virtual IT team operating at a high performance level. Make appropriate business decisions regarding the “extended staff” model to maximize the effectiveness of all resources - internal staff, consultants, project staff and external service providers. Develop a user-centric service attitude in IT staff to enhance both internal and external customer focus through responsive and innovative technology. •Perform all activities in compliance with the internal and external requirements / standards for Health & Safety, Quality, Regulatory, Finance and Human Resources.Required Skills• PMO and global project resource management experience strongly preferred.• Experience in developing and facilitating governance and project portfolio management activities preferred.•Management experience in global, distributed information services organizations a plus.•Professional certification(s) in project and quality management preferred.Required Experience• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or information technology management required. •Masters degree in related business management and/or information technology fields preferred. •Experience in information systems and project management, preferably in regulated or medical device industry.•7-10 years in developing and leading business transformation project management experience preferred -3-5 years required.•5+ years experience in managing cross functional business teams preferred.Smith & Nephew requests that you apply for this position through our web site.
