Executive Director, ABC
POSITION SUMMARYThe ABC Executive Director is responsible for providing leadership in: establishing and maintaining ABC sustaining requirements, tools, processes and methodologies through cross functional collaboration with multiple key partners and work teams. Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate and foster partnerships with KP-ITs BMO, KP-IT Finance teams and internal steering committees regarding TCO, IT consumption and key performance metrics. This Executive will have broad authority to ensure the implementation and adherence to Program and KP-IT financial policies, methodologies and controls. To achieve objectives, the incumbent plays a key role in coordination with: Regional CFOs and BIOs, KP-IT TCO owners, FP&A and other KP-IT Finance teams, Program Compliance Department personnel, senior Program Offices finance executives, other Program Controllers, Program Offices personnel, SSO personnel, KP-IT BMO and other KP-IT partners.Looking at goals to be achieved in the ABC Leaders first year, he/she must: develop and execute a plan for transformational change in ABC allocation methodologies and establish sustaining requirements, tools, processes and methodologies and all central analysis functions. Work with Central FP&A and Tools function to tie ABC into KP-ITs reporting, planning, forecasting, budgeting and long range financial planning deliverables. Partner with KP-ITs BMO to drive the program to leverage ABC framework to enhance cost transparency and allocated cost management by Regional BIO. Develop and drive a standardized process improvement program to rationalize and optimize the KP-IT organizational footprint using internal resources such as the shared services organization. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES As a key Financial Leader and Executive ensure the full implementation of activity based costing as applied to the delivery of IT products and services. Provide tools and analysis to assist the Regional BIOs to manage full allocation of IT costs to the Region. Evangelize enhancement of Regional cost transparency through the use of the ABC framework, customer statement and the underlying analysis. Integrate ABC framework into all KP-IT financial planning and reporting outputs and deliverables. Leads team on key analysis work and projects and makes recommendations to business. Facilitates governance meetings, processes and gains appropriate buy in and approvals. Coordinates all statement reviews for the Customer Statement. Leads analysis and makes recommendations to Regional CFO Committee on cost allocation methodology options. Leads the implementation, monitoring, correction, and improvement of KP-IT control systems including: training of personnel; periodic evaluation of control systems in place; oversight of corrective action plans to remedy control weaknesses identified; and involvement in control design considerations of systems under development. Ensures the effectiveness of regulatory compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) programs. Leads and directs ABC related design decisions for systems with a financial component, including recording, reporting and internal controls. Drives internal initiatives that improve overall performance by addressing unreliable, poorly controlled, ineffective, inconsistent and duplicative processes and functions through the adoption of process standardization and leveraging the capabilities of Enterprise-wide technology implementations. Responsible for ensuring the integrity and completeness of ABC data of financial reports provided to Program Offices, reports to regulators, and all other major financial reports produced in KP-IT. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. Masters degree with a CPA or equivalent work experience preferred. Minimum of ten years of comprehensive experience in financial management. Strong preference for significant experience in technology or manufacturing. Experience implementing financial controls and reporting systems to improve management capabilities and results for IT and impact within a larger business unit. Knowledge of the application of IT to various financial systems. Direct experience working in a software development model. Broad understanding of the software delivery process. Experience with cost management, financial analysis, and budgeting techniques. Proven track record in establishing cost accounting/ABC/detailed allocation methodologies and models within an IT organization. Strong communication, presentation, and staff development skills. Facility with matrix management techniques. Successful experience in achieving results through people in complex organization. Customer focus with outstanding interpersonal skills and is able to interact with a range of personalities and styles to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization. Ability to support and impact other business functions and senior managers within the business unit, both internally and externally. Expertise in program management discipline and tool sets. Demonstrates organizational design skills. Identifies and develops functional manager-level talent. Other desired attributes include being a team player and change agent.
