Job Purpose:

The Web Designer is primarilyresponsible for creating web user interface designs and graphics, updatingexisting sites, and creating online advertising materials. Use existing client requirements and create web user interface designs and graphics.Execute the graphical user interface of websites or applications. Integrate company branding, video, animation, still images, text and audio into the graphical design of web pages.Utilize various graphical software tools and technologies to transform graphical concepts into specific web designs and user interfaces.

Duties:Prepares work to be accomplished by gatheringinformation and materials.Plans concept by studying information andmaterials.Illustrates concept by designing rough layoutof images and copy; resolving issues of arrangement, size, type size and style,and related aesthetic concepts.Obtains approval of concept by submittingrough layout for approval.Completes web projects by coordinating withdesign, marketing, and development teams.Maintains technical knowledge by attendingdesign workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating inprofessional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishingrelated results as needed.


Skills/Qualifications:Must have strong layout ability, and basic design/comping skills.Ability to establish typographic styles and complex layoutsAbility to design and hand code cross-browser compliant CSS and XHTML layoutsExpertise in the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe IllustratorGood oral communication skills for effective communication to project team members. Deep knowledge of design principles and interactive design.Demonstrated ability to use all relevant design software products.Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines. Ability to learn new technologies and embrace evolving "best practices."Previous experience in online advertising a plus. Good Oral and Written Communication SkillsAbility to Complete Multiple Tasks and Projects within DeadlinesExperience with Microsoft Visual Studio and/or Microsoft Expression Suite a plus
