Healthcare Data Analyst

Managedcare.com (www.managedcare.com) is a small but rapidly-growing healthcare technology company seeking a dynamic professional to join its Programming and Analysis team. The Company has been in operation for over 7 years and is headquartered in Western Colorado (Grand Junction). We provide a range of ASP-based reporting applications to over 100 managed care organizations across the U.S. Key modules include utilization management, quality (HEDIS) reporting, disease management, benchmarking and provider profiling tools. Expansion in both the range of clients we serve and the scope of our data management applications has resulted in a need to augment our team.

 

The successful candidate would be a team player, but also comfortable working independently and interacting directly with clients. They would be capable of multi-tasking and managing the simultaneous demands of many projects. They would possess a strong knowledge of healthcare data and the strategy and operations of HMOs and other managed care organizations. Desired qualifications for this position would include:

 

q  Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, programming or other related concentration

q  3-5 years specific experience in data analysis for a managed care organization (IPA, HMO or IDN)

q  Analytical experience in the evaluation of healthcare claims data including utilization patterns, provider profiling, healthcare quality metrics, $PMPM trend analysis, loss ratio studies, etc.

q  Extensive experience with databases, SQL Server preferred, and MS Office applications.  Some familiarity with programming languages (VB, C#, VBA) preferred.

q  Strong fundamental knowledge of managed care contracting, capitation, use of CPT codes, claims and eligibility data structure, and all related concepts

q  Development experience in management reporting (both designing and programming key report views)

q  Excellent communication skills and a desire to accept expanding levels of responsibility
