***** Contract to Perm Position *****Our client has an immediate opening for Help Desk Analyst. The Help Desk Support Specialist provides local first-level technical assistance for the end-user community. This individual fields questions, from end-users that might require local support. Summary of experience required: 2+ years of PC experience with an understanding of networking, creating shares and sharing printers. Technical training in desktop operating system(s) and networking fundamentals. Job Responsibilities: 1st Level Network Support: Performs workstation operating system and applications software installation support and upgrades. Works with IS support team and to provide prompt problem resolution to end-user community. PC Installation and Maintenance Support: Provide workstation setup, moves, adds, changes. Install system add-ons including: memory, CD ROMS, modems, network adapters. Function as the primary point of contact for all on-site hardware service calls. System Backups/Restore: Facilitate the daily backup and tape rotation of all local network servers. Provide end-user document restores. Work with network support team to troubleshoot and resolve backup problems. Asset Management: Maintain current and accurate PC inventory for all systems and peripherals located on-site. Manage the local laptop loaner pool. Facilitate the repair of systems under factory warranty or service agreement. Special Project Support: Provide technical support for special projects as directed. Work with vendors and internal staff to deliver and implement new technologies and system upgrades. Site Documentation: Maintain local network/connection floor plans. Maintains a local library of support policies, procedures, and guidelines.
