Help Desk Tech/ Computer Operator- MA. 2nd shift

Datacenter to support operations from Only LOCAL (MA.) Candidates with US work authorization and helpdesk - computer operations experience will be considered for this role. HOURS: 2nd shift Mon-Fri 3pm-11 pm Responsibilities: • Provide expertise in the operation and support of Microsoft NT and UNIX environments. • Monitor batch production to ensure successful completion. • Plan, implement, and communicate system and application migration and upgrades. • Maintain comprehensive, timely, and accurate system logs and system reporting data. • Generate status reports, problem reports and system logs and system reporting data. • Observe and evaluate job, system and program performance. • Conduct nightly backups on all systems. • Monitor console messages. • Monitor Network links. • Adjust the configuration of operating system procedures. • Maintain logs. • Document procedures. • Distributing reports. • Provide assistance and support to other support groups in troubleshooting mainframe, network and communication problems. • Supporting users over the phone with system support questions. Open, address, resolve, close Trouble Tickets. • Import R/3 transports to appropriate systems. • Answer the help desk phone. • Provide PC support when necessary. • Excellent verbal communication skills are required. • Reliability is critical to this role.
