JOB DESCRIPTION – HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

 

 Job Function Overview

 

This position performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level. This will include recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, and application/communication of policies and procedures across the organization.

 

Essential Functions:

 

                Communication:

·         Communicates policies, programs and procedures in partnership with line management and Corporate Human Resources

·         Counsels employees and managers regarding workplace issues

·         Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in efficiency of department, and delivery of services performed

 

Recruiting:

·         Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel

·         Engages hiring manager to understand needs for open positions

·         Sources qualified candidates utilizing creative recruiting strategies

·         Screens applicants and forwards to hiring manager

·         Extends offers of employment

 

Benefits:             

·         Assists with timely execution of company’s open enrollment period

·         Reconciles monthly invoices, ensuring all adds/terms/changes are applied

·         Communicates changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by providers

·         Resolves employee issues related to health and welfare plans within established guidelines

 

Compliance:

·         Ensures timely government related compliance reporting relating, but not limited to: EEO, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, OSHA, etc.

 

Key Skill Requirements and Education:

 

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Human Resources, or related field

·         PHR Certification desirable

·         Thorough knowledge of HRIS systems

·         Must have considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration

·         Outstanding oral and written communications skills

·         2-3 years professional level experience

·         Background with complex, multi-state organization

·         Ability to objectively coach employees and management through difficult and emotional issues

·         Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems using sound judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies/procedures, and government regulations
