Human Resources Manager
Job summary
The Human Resources Manager performs diversified duties requiring a thorough knowledge of Human Resources procedures and functions as well as awareness of applicable Federal and State regulations. The HR Manager reports directly to the CFO and provides strategic human resource leadership and support of operations. This person will direct employment and staffing processes including recruitment, screening, selection, placement, transfers, promotions and terminations. They will work closely with the executive management team to develop HR strategies including: leadership development, talent management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and recruitment.
The ideal candidate will be able to manage recruitment effort for exempt, non-exempt, administrative, and temporary employees, both within California and in other states. The position will be responsible for handling human resource and employee relations issues on a day-to-day basis, and serve as a resource and central contact for HR policy/procedure clarification, and provide input to and update the Employee Handbook as appropriate. This position will also be responsible for employee orientation, development and training, and ensure that new employees receive policies and procedures, complete all necessary paperwork, and gain an understanding of the benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
Summary of essential job functions
P Directly supervise the Human Resources Staff and all functions of the Human Resources Department
P Administer orientations for new staff
P Travel between offices as necessary
P Supervise and monitor on an ongoing basis all benefit and payroll functions
P Ensure that reviews are done on time for all staff
P Coaches managers on appropriate handling of employee performance issues, legal guidelines, effective problem solving, corrective action and dispute resolution, and steps to maintain a positive work environment
P Perform other duties as may be assigned by management
P Ensure the delivery of quality HR deliverables.
P Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
P Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
P Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
P Maintains current and complete understanding of all Federal and State Human Resources related laws, including: EEO, human rights, release of employment information, Pregnancy Disability Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, ADA, Family Rights Act, and any other applicable laws and regulations.
Minimum requirements
- Baccalaureate or equivalent university degree in human resources or a related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years direct experience in administering human resources policies, programs and practices to include planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing human resources management functions.
- Satisfactory client/employment references.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
