IP Telephony/VOIP Engineer

 

Position Overview:

 

ProNet Solutions is currently looking for an IP Telephony Engineer to join our fast growing Voice Team. To qualify for this position, you will have a fundamental understanding of Cisco level Routing and Switching (CCNA equivalent) as well as exposure to Voice and IP Telephony basics including voice design, configuration and troubleshooting skills. This position will afford you the opportunity to interact directly with ProNet's customers and will require you to have excellent communication skills and to be able to establish a rapport with customers at the business level. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop the telephony designs, proposals, and presentations that will ultimately be given to customers. Understanding the business value perspective of IP Telephony will be critical. Furthermore, you will conduct the installation as well as provide post-install support for multiple IPT systems including Cisco CallManager, Cisco CallManager Express and Shoretel. In all of these areas, the position will require you to work closely with many of ProNet's employees with each area having shared responsibility.


 

Technical Requirements:

 

Technical Skills (3+ years in the following)

-Cisco Entry Level Routers (i.e., 2800 series) and switches (i.e., 3500 series, 2900 series)

3+ years of experience

Ability to fully configure

Moderate to advanced troubleshooting skills

- TCP/IP subnetting skills

- VLAN, trunking skills

-Setting up and supporting CME (Cisco Call Manager Express)

  -Setting up and supporting CUE (Cisco Unity Express)

 

Interpersonal Skills:

 

-Experience working in a team environment

-Ability to establish a rapport with business executives

-Ability to speak in non-technical terms

-Experience with creating proposals

-Experience with Viso, Word, Excel

 

Other Technical Experience that is nice to have:

 

QoS skills

Setting up and supporting Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Unity solutions

Setting up and supporting ShoreTel solutions

Certifications in order of importance

CCNA

CME

ShoreTel

CCVP

 

Other Requirements:

 

Expectation of 25% travel

Occasional After hours / weekend work
