Salary Range:  $28,814.76 - $43,303.96

 

Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and five years of IT experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education, knowledge, and experience. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work within different teams and oversee simultaneous projects, dividing time and focus accordingly. Must have a customer-service orientation and be detail-driven and self-directed.

 

Experience and skills must include familiarity with relational databases, Web-based technologies, and fluency in at least one programming language.

 

Desired qualifications: In-depth understanding of the Linux operating system and its administration, open-source databases, and Java programming, including JSP.

 

Duties/Responsibilities: Facilitate the ITC’s mission of bringing innovative technical solutions to problems faced by the academic community through both depth and breadth of technical knowledge of Web programming and systems, including Web-driven databases and dynamic content. Design information-flow strategies, databases, and other custom software for ITC projects and coordinate with other campus departments and resources. Collaborate with other ITC staff and programmers to coordinate projects and strategies. Meet with clients, end users, and other stakeholders to assess existing and future technical needs. Remain abreast of ongoing University research initiatives and seek opportunities for synergy between the ITC and these new challenges. Install, enhance, and implement existing software, both off-the-shelf and custom. Oversee integration and technical management of Blackboard and additional ITC projects with university data streams. Code and document custom programming, write and collaborate on ITC communications, serve on campus committees, and occasionally travel to seminars, conferences, and other professional development opportunities.
