IT Analyst (Application development)

BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York is adding to its current team of IT Analysts.  This team is dedicated to leveraging the use of technology within business operations by leading software application development projects from inception through implementation. 

The IT Analyst serves as a consultant and  acts as a liaison between the business units and IT.  They will manage business demands and expectations for Corporate strategic, departmental, and IT initiated projects. This position is responsible for gathering requirements from business owners (which may include senior or executive level management), documenting those requirements using standard document templates, communicating risks/contingencies to project managers, consulting with technical development staff to clarify business requirements and participating in design and demonstration sessions with technical and business staff.

We seek individuals who are able to strike a balance between exceeding customer expectations and providing the business with realistic feedback on scope, schedule and budget. Under the direction of a Manager, this position will ensure that software systems are properly integrated in support of business goals and objectives.


Minimum two-year college degree in Information Systems or related field. A four-year degree in Information Systems or related field is preferred. Expected minimum of 6 years professional Information System experience and 4 years work in a Analyst role in a software development environment.
