IT Analyst (GIS)

Description

Develops & implements GIS projects, performs spatial analysis using ESRI software.  Reviews, analyzes, develops & performs complex analysis of geospatial & tabular data & develops mapping products.  Analyzes user specifications & requirements for the computer programs used by the City.  Updates programs, installs new programs, develops new software programs, maintains vendor software applications & provides user support for other departments.  Troubleshooting software & hardware.  Administrative duties.

 

Experience & Training

Bachelor's degree in Geography, Earth Science, Computer Science or related field (preferred).

Two to 3 years practical GIS experience is required.  Practical experience in GIS field may substitute for degree requirement.

Must have experience with geospatial data collection, analysis, &/or conversion with ESRI products.

Preference given to candidates with experience in ArcSDE.

Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well with a diverse team of people.
