IT Business Analyst

We operate 20 Health Centers – 13 in Maricopa County, three in the Tucson Metro Area and one each in the communities of Flagstaff, Globe, Prescott and Yuma.
We currently have a job opening for an IT Business Analyst.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The IT Business Analyst position at Planned Parenthood Arizona (PPAZ) is a key position within the IT Department requiring a diverse set of skills. This position entails working with Department and Division Managers to help apply information technology to aide in automating business processes and improving operational productivity. Additionally, the position entails working to provide business intelligence to internal and external customers using a variety of tools.
Identifies opportunities to apply Sharepoint 2003 and Sharepoint 2007 to automate business processes, improve collaboration, and improve knowledge management. This will involve applying MOSS2007 tools and technologies such as InfoPath Forms, Workflows, Sharepoint Designer, SQL Reporting Services, Excel Services, WIKIs, discussion groups, custom team sites.
Works on multiple business initiatives using project management skills, requirements management skills, and business process management skills.
Trains the PPAZ end-user community on how THEY can more effectively utilize Sharepoint 2003/2007 and other IT applications on a daily basis.
Builds and deploys custom reports and business intelligence systems using a variety of tools from MS SQL 2005, Crystal Reports XI, Practice Analytics (a vertical BI tool).
Utilizes business application development skills to develop customized solutions to business problems. This will involve the use of a variety of tools such as Microsoft .Net, Visual Studio 2005/2008, SQL Server 2000/2005, Data Transformation Services / SSIS, MS Access, MS Excel and other COTS and vertical applications.
Applies business acumen in working with department and agency staff members to understand existing processes, to use business process management best practices to model, document, and improve business process, and to ultimately apply IT commercial off the shelf and vertical applications to enhance operational effectiveness.
Works with the Director of IT and other IT associates in ensuring the IT Infrastructure meets the feature needs, performance, and reliability requirements our business systems depend upon.
Works as a support resource to perform Help Desk activities as needed in support of business applications and solutions.
Trains resources within the organization on how to adapt to and utilize any technologies and tools that affect their daily use or consumption.
Trains other IT staff on how to support and manage the custom IT implementations and applications.
Works with the Director of IT on select projects and makes recommendations on tools or technologies in support of business-related initiatives.
Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. Degree in Application Development, Business Management, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 5 years experience in analyzing, designing, and applying Microsoft-related tools and technologies to solving business initiatives.
Microsoft Certified IT Pro: Database Developer or Business Intelligence Developer preferred.
Must have a minimum of (3) years experience with developing business applications using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and MS SQL 2005. Note: This is not a software engineering opportunity. It is an opportunity requiring skills in business application development.
Must have a minimum of (3) years experience in designing and implementing business intelligence systems including data marts and data warehouses. Must be familiar with database modeling, design, and implementation.
Must have a minimum of (3) years equivalent work experiencing with using ETL tools for integrating database systems, vertical applications, and business intelligence systems. Experience with building XML Web Services and database interfaces preferred.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including ability to work with end-users, outside vendors, and management to resolve problems and implement new technologies.
Ability to track and management multiple initiatives or projects, including strong attention to detail, is a key to success position.
Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
