IT Manager
Summary
This position is with a small IT shop and will oversee the IT department This role will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance and support mission-critical business operations. This person will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The Director will be expected to own, lead and drive to successful completion, all organizational deliverables associated with the development of the mission critical applications and technology that support the enterprise. This individual will also be charged with the cultivation, dissemination and enforcement of all functional policies, procedures, and best practices. Anticipated duration is six months with possible extension.Job Duties
Ø Translation of business needs into actionable IT activities.
Ø Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
Ø Facilitate fact-based decision-making process for prioritization of IT activities.
Ø Ability to understand business tactical objectives and issues while understanding how they fit and interact with existing IT strategies and infrastructure.
Ø Holds responsibility for capacity management and planning.
Ø Effective communication of all relevant IT-related information to management team
Ø Exercises staff oversight to ensure new operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent with the overall company goals and objectives
Ø Management of all IT assets
Ø Ensures a smooth transition from incumbent IT leader
Ø Conducts appropriate assessment of key IT areas and document within initial transition period
Qualifications
Ø Bachelor’s degree
Ø At least 15 years of overall experience
Ø 5 or more years of IT management experience of a multi-functional IT team of 10 or FEWER
Ø 5 years direct experience in software development and systems management
Ø Outstanding project management skills and substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.
Ø Experience with Oracle software
Ø Experience with interfaces and/or conversions of payroll processing systems
Ø Exposure to multiple IT environments – Windows, UNIX, etc.
Ø Experience supporting financial applications
Ø On-call availability
