We are looking for an Unix or Intel certified Systems Management Specialist to work for our client based in Greenwood village, CO.
Description:
24 x 7 x 365 Level 2 Recovery on Intel and Unix Operating Systems, with a complete understanding of the operating system, also Monitoring of 2100 servers using Site-Scope Tool. The schedule may change from Days or Night do to a transition for the next 6 months. Computer operator including console operator, batch operator and network operator
Job ResponsibilitiesManage, control and operate complex computer systems in a multi-vendor environment.Open a Oneview Ticket in a Timely Manner 1 - 15 minutesProblem source identification for a customer computer systems having multiple platforms and images.Identifying potential problems and correcting the problem or engaging the correct support/vendor to assist in problem resolution. Operate tools in the command center as appropriate to the site's requirements: Tivoli Tec, Site Scope, Hp Openview and MercuryKnowledge of current O/S commands and system manipulation possibilities for assigned systemsResolve Level 1 and 2 incidents and exceptions on host systems, networks, workstations, hardware, Windows NT, OS/2, UNIX, etc.Identification of problem source (network, application, system) based on a call from the user community when the failure is not being communicated with known abend/failure codes. Understand the relationship and ownership of the account networks, applications, and systems.Notify : All support teams in a Timely MannerBatch Operations
Problem and Change ManagementDrive problems to resolution.Maintain complete, accurate timelines for problemsKnowledge of and adherence to SMC disciplines.Level 2 problem determination and resolutionEscalate and drive problems to appropriate support groups.Keep the Duty Managers and Team Leads abreast of all Sev 1 and 2 issues.Problem determination to isolate the source of problem on a system, network, or application when problem cause is not known or immediately apparent. Understand the relationship and ownership of the account networks, applications, and systems.Operator manages problems working with support groups on problem resolution. The operator applies problem determination skills, resolution skills, uses operating system and product specific tools to issue displays and enter commands to resolve problem in a timely manner. They also need to team with support groups on the phone to be clear on steps and processes taking place to resolve the problem.Operators manage change/maintenance window to ensure desired results are achieved for the activities taking place. The system operators work under a very tight time schedule and it is critical they perform the tasks on time and correctly so window times are met and there is no customer impact.
Customer ContactAnswer phones clearly and professionally.Operators handle incoming customer phone calls and are expected to handle the call in a professional manner. They work with the customer until a solution is reached or determine who can assist in providing a solution.
