IT Operations Director

Position Summary Go Daddy is seeking a Director of Operations for our Systems Operations teams and Network Operations Center. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in operational best practices, policies, procedures, standards, incident monitoring and incident response.  This is a senior level position with multiple direct reports.Primary Responsibilities  Oversee multiple operations teams responsible for production systems, applications, databases, storage, and networks. Maintain process-oriented system administration functions. Develop processes to ensure all services (internal & external) are identified and operational documentation is developed and maintained. Develop processes to ensure organizational knowledge is created from daily operational tasks (Incidents, Changes, and Problems). Work with process managers to control and schedule changes to reduce the risk of customer facing unavailability Establish KPIs to quantify teams’ effectiveness Drive initiatives to reduce manual processes through automation Drive Staff and Organizational Development  Requirements · 5+ years of operational leadership experience· Strong technical understanding of server hardware/software, NAS, RDBMS, and IP networks· Excellent understanding of complex IT environments· Solid understanding of a 24 x 7 high-availability, mission-critical server and carrier class network/data center infrastructure· Strong management and business skills required, along with a proven track record in IT operations development and management.· Ability to identify opportunities to enhance work-flow efficiency· Ability to create and present effective proposals· Ability to achieve results by effectively communicating with other groups· Project management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple teams with multiple assignments· Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, high-intensity deadline-oriented work environment· Ability to maintain positive, professional, and calm demeanor at all times.· ITIL knowledge, certification a plus· Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, Linux, MySql, Network Appliance, and Cisco gear is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
