We are currently looking for the best talent available for an IT PMO Project Manager with a proven track record in technology based solutions for an international corporation.  This Position requires both strong communication and program management skills and is located at our office in New Britain, CT.

 

Major Responsibilities:

· Manage enterprise projects and programs

· Day-to-day Management of the IT Project Portfolio

· Develop tools, processes and best practices in the Project/Program Management disciplines

· Mentor/Consult with Project Managers and IT Leadership on IT and business related projects

· Develop training/supporting materials and deliver training to Project Managers; both formal and informal learning events

· Enhance the organizational tools used for project reporting and project delivery and help operationalize full use of these tools

· Deployment and maintenance of a PMO/Project Portfolio Management tool suite to automate manual PM processes and methodologies

· Maintain and enhance project gating and governance processes

· Oversee the submission, selection, prioritization and progress of projects/programs

· Exhibit a disciplined, data driven and methodology-based approach

Technical

·  Oversee the creation and evaluation of effective project performance and financial metrics.

·  Develop and maintain policies, procedures and templates that support the IT Project Management methodology and ensure that PMO staff, project and program teams are appropriately trained.

·  Oversee development and maintenance of training standards for Project Management, Risk Management and Project Financial Management.

·  Own and evolve the project management methodology, maintenance and usage of project prioritization models and other project decision tools.

·  Must demonstrate ability to conduct and interpret qualitative and quantitative project data.

·  Identify potential project risks, implement appropriate courses of action to address project slippage and develop strategies to mitigate future risk.

·  MS Enterprise Project Management experience preferred.

Experience and Skills:

 

·  Proven experience in project leadership roles

·  Practical experience executing all size and types of projects and multi-project

  programs

·  Strong project management experience

·  Strong knowledge in project methodology and software development life cycles

·  Strong and varied practical application of Project Methodologies

·  Ability to develop new processes and tools for the benefit of improving project and financial processes

·  Ability to mentor and guide others through project processes

·  Ability to train Project Managers in key PM concepts and disciplines

·  Awareness of industry best practices and direction

·  Ability to influence others without formal authority

·  Preferred international project management experience

·  Must be willing to travel

 

Job Experience/Education: 

 

• 5+ years of experience in a senior project management capacity.
• Experience in managing ERP implementation projects (i.e. SAP) preferred
• Bachelor degree in business admin, MIS, IS, operations or finance is required.

• Masters Degree is preferred
• PMP Certification preferred
