JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Summary:  Under general direction, trains and supports faculty in the use of classroom technology; installs new technology equipment; performs field maintenance and repairs on technology equipment.

 

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include any and/or all of the following

 

  1.  Trains and supports faculty in the use of classroom technology, such as computing systems and highly integrated audio visual technology; consults with faculty to schedule, plan, and prepare for the use of classroom technology.

 

  2.  Inspects, tests and diagnoses problems with installed classroom technology; performs on-site component swap repairs; schedules repairs as needed; performs video projector calibrations.

 

  3.  Assists with design and implementation of new teaching technology installations; writes specifications for new projects; supervises vendor installations.

 

  4.  Provides technical support for satellite videoconferences, video taping, and in-house distance learning activities; troubleshoots and provides on-site assistance with special technology setups; coordinates Instructional Media Center functions with other University technology representatives.

 

  5.  Designs and implements appropriate upgrades to existing presentation, production, and distance learning facilities; maintains knowledge of new and changing media technologies; performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the installation, use, and repair of audiovisual, video, and multimedia equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience equivalent to:

 

Associate’s degree in a related field, with bachelor’s degree preferred; supplemented with two (2) years of applicable work experience
