Qualifications: High school graduate or GED One year experience Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science or a similar degree

 

Personality and Work Traits:

            Position requires an individual with an enthusiastic and congenial personality. Superior communication skills are necessary both verbal and written. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are required. Must be accurate and detail oriented. Able to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, which may not always be clear or in proper technical terms.  Critical thinking skills are a must.

 

General Responsibilities: Maintain computer systems, printers, server, and networking equipment Answer questions from employees about technical problems Update software programs as needed, Create and edit EMR forms Configure and set up new computers and computer-related hardware Communicate with third-party hardware and software support Perform job-related research Additional duties as assigned

 

Typical Physical Demands:

            Work requires sitting, viewing and working at a computer for long periods of time. Some bending and stretching may be required for reaching files and supplies. Manual dexterity required to operate telephone and other small office equipment. Some lifting of up to 70 lbs may be required.

 

Required Skills:

            Training or experience with Windows Server 2003 (all versions), Windows XP, and Microsoft Office products is required.  General knowledge of file and system security, including Active Directory, is necessary.  Software and hardware troubleshooting experience is a must.

 

Preferred Experience:

            Experience with Logician, Centricity Physician Office, and/or other medical-related software and hardware is greatly preferred.  Experience with VoIP phones is a plus.  Candidates with general networking knowledge and experience are preferred.  Experience with backup systems and Veritas software is preferred.
