IT Support/SharePoint Administrator

Job description:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on systems administrator with at a minimum of 5 years experience in Windows 2003 server administration in a mid- to large- sized enterprise. Expertise in supporting a complex Windows infrastructure in a production environment is required. The candidate should have demonstrated expertise in a Microsoft Windows servers and proven experience in implementing solutions involving cross-platform and platform agnostic systems. Experience in enterprise storage technologies, specifically backup and recovery of MOSS 2007 and Windows Server 2003, as well as experience in physical server configurations using industry best practices. LAN interconnectivity design and implementation experience is highly desired along with a firm understanding of security methodologies and practices.  

 

Essential job skills:

Expertise in MOSS 2007 configuration, migration of SharePoint site from server to server.

Candidate needs to be able to demonstrate data and operating system retention and recovery. Follows established practices to ensure the highest level of data integrity and availability.

 

Technical/professional knowledge requested:

·  Hands on experience with implementing and supporting the following:

·  Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (2003)

·  Network theories and practices

·  Back up and recovery of legacy sites and SharePoint sites

·  Configure and implement DELL tape backups

·  Active Directory implementation

·  Dell & MPC server deployment & administration

·  MOSS 2007 Sharepoint portal administration and implementation

·  Initiates preventive maintenance on the operating systems as well as repair to system/environment problems. Update IAVA’s and virus definitions

·  Document server changes for reporting

·  Inventory control

Other helpful skills include experience with any of the following

·  Knowledge Windows Security & PKI (Public Key Infrustructure) components

·  Single sign-on within SharePoint

·  Hardware & Windows Load Balancing

·  Virtualization (Virtual Server, Virtual PC, VM Ware)
