IT System Administrator

IT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

The function of the System Administrator I position is to design, develop, document, implement, and maintain support of the internally developed computer network.  This includes oversight of all hardware, telecommunication and network functions. 

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE POSITION:  

Performs network and computer system administration, including, installation of new applications and updates.  

Performs Database Administration, including additional tasks include running queries, general database management and updates on SQL, Oracle, SQL Base, Pervasive, and SQL Anywhere.

  

Manages the overall performance, maintenance, security and disaster recovery processes for computer networks and systems.  Manages, enforces, updates and modifies HPBC’s security policies.  Recommends, installs, and configure network workstations, routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, and servers. 

 



QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

Two years computer services experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server, Windows Active Directory, MS Exchange 2000/2003 Server, UNIX experience in a Healthcare environment. 

Microsoft certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred. 

Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting 

Knowledge of SQL/Oracle database software desired. 

Solaris and/or AIX experience a plus. 

Cisco Router experience a plus 

Excellent communication skills. Must be a team player.
