As a member of the OIT/AEA Student Applications group provide IT solutions in support of campus business requirements, particularly in core student systems. This position works almost independently and with considerable latitude in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems in support of those requirements. Position troubleshoots and resolves complex system’s problems across multiple operating environments; builds comprehensive test plans; establishes robust test environments; executes thorough test of new and changed programs; and may be responsible for training and/or coaching less-experienced personnel and providing feedback on their performance. Other responsibilities include: planning, coordinating, reviewing, and monitoring production schedules; researching and recommending new technological solutions and implementing those solutions as appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify, candidates have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience. Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) years experience with increasingly complex programming and analysis tasks and demonstrated ability to interact with users in defining system requirements. Relevant educational experience can be substituted for job experience. Must be proficient in Java (J2EE, JSP) and familiar with other applicable computer languages and technologies, such as Apache/Tomcat/JServ configuration, Solaris administration, SQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.
