Implementation Project Manager

EMPATH Consulting, Inc. is a leading healthcare consulting firm providing proven methods for hospitals to optimize operational efficiencies, patient satisfaction and revenue. We spearhead broad-scale clinical and operational re-design for hospital Inpatient Areas as well as the Emergency Department and Operating Room. We also create operational measurement and learning delivery systems, introduce new communication and information technology strategies, and improve patient care processes.

Title: Implementation Project Manager

(Candidates can live anywhere in the US )


If you are an experienced implementation project manager who has managed large scale HIS implementation projects involving multiple applications, please submit your resume. Enterprise wide system vendor experience with Epic, Cerner, McKesson, and/or Siemens would be an ideal fit.

Project Managers must be professionals who have an interest in how business processes work and interact. In addition, consultants need to apply their skills in project and program management while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of process, technology, and organizational change. Finally, consultants also need to have a working knowledge of the industry and/or the functional areas they serve.


Project Managers are responsible for delivering large-scale, complex programs that marry processes with technology to help our clients achieve high performance.

Job Description:

Responsibilities may include:



** Supervising application design and architecture components

** Supervising process and functional design activities

** Creating functional requirements as an input to application design

** Developing and testing detailed functional designs for business solution components and prototypes

** Supervising application build, test, and deploy activities

** Planning and executing data import / export and conversion activities

** Driving test planning and execution

** Ability to meet travel requirements (80%)



Basic Qualifications:



** 5+ years of full life cycle implementation experience with software applications at healthcare providers.



Preferred Skills:



** Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree

** Experience with Meditech, Cerner, Epic, Eclipsys, Siemens, IDX or another comparable HIS or Ancillary software package.

** Clinical informatics experience



Professional Skills:


** Experience with a large professional service organization

** Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

** Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment

** Desire to work in hybrid environment (clinical and technical)

Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills


Expect 80% travel during project duration (Mon-Thurs at client site, and Friday from home). Relocation is NOT required for this position. Client related expenses are reimbursed, and a per diem is provided.
