Industry Marketing Specialist II
Requisition # 128811 Location: Orlando, FL Position Title: Industry Marketing Specialist II: The Industry Marketing Specialist role is a global role with responsibility for understanding requirements of the industry, communicating/documenting the high level solution requirements of the industry from a regional perspective to product management/development and communicating industry and regional requirements to the NCR Marketing-Communications team. To perform these activities well requires constructive interaction and teamwork with nearly all other functions within the business, particularly Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Pricing, Research & Development and Global Learning. The incumbent must develop a clear understanding of customer problems in their industry and the NCR solutions to those problems. The incumbent must also become the subject matter expert on the industry trends, drivers of business performance, best practices and the competitive landscape within their industry. Key Areas of Responsibility: • Scope covers Travel and Lodging market segments globally for NCR Travel solution portfolio and services. • Frequently communicates with regional sales teams to gain in-depth understanding of current/future regional industry requirements as well as competitors in the region and their positioning/portfolio. Examples of Regional Sales teams include U.S., Canada, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. • Communicates required solutions and industry landscape information to Product Management and Marketing Communications. • Is responsible for making recommendations on the required solution portfolio for their industry globally. • Responsible for the growth and profitability of industry portfolio. • Actively engaged with Industry Trade Organizations including IATA, ACI, and AAAE. • Researches, analyzes, and monitors industry and competitive trends so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized within the industry. • Leads the messaging and content exhibited in industry trade shows. • Manages the content of the intra-net Industry Portal for Travel and Lodging. • Works with Product Marketing and Product Managers to ensure high level solution/product requirements are clearly articulated to Product Management. • Works with Region Marketing Deployment to ensure the product related deliverables and collateral are high value and meet market windows. • Plans and oversees customer visits, works with account teams to plan their visit strategy and plays a central role as host and lead presenter of the NCR strategy and value prop to the customer. Skills and Abilities: • Ability to communicate and relate to senior level executives. • Solid marketing skills, including messaging, writing, and public speaking. • Ability to be creative as well as analytical, organized and detail-oriented. • Ability to work independently and handle high pressure situations. • Ensures achievement of industry marketing objectives is completed within designated budgets. • Actively involved in supporting the selling process. • Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: • Undergraduate degree (Communications, Business, or Computer Science, or related field of study) required. • 5+ years hands-on experience in travel industry sales, product marketing or field marketing within the high tech industry. • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Preferred Requirements: • First-hand knowledge of self-service technology a plus. • Intermediate-to-advanced skills with common business applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. *Our total compensation approach includes a competitive base salary, strong work/family programs, 401k program and medical, dental and disability coverage.
