INFORMATION SECURITY ENGINEERS/SECURITY ANALYSTS

POSITIONS IN NEWINGTON AND SPRINGFIELD, VA AREAS

 

Provide IT security engineering support.   Tasking includes: Conducting security engineering analyses.Developing security related documentation. Conducting Security Testing and Evaluation in support of security accreditation. Investigating potential security vulnerabilities and incidents. Coordinating, participating, and documenting program security related meetings.

 Specific duties include:

 

 

System Security Accreditation and Maintenance Support

 Security engineering analysis and security risks evaluations of communication system hardware and software components.Security policy evaluation, certification, accreditation, and engineering change proposal(s) evaluation.Preparation of security tests and evaluation plans.Participation in security working groups and Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings.Review and provide comments on technical documentation. Planning, analyzing, implementation, documentation preparation, and reporting activities for systems security accreditation and certification of systems. Preparation of accreditation plan(s) and interim approval to operate request(s) that will include a risk mitigating justification that describes how to manage the network risks and network connection approval process specifications.

 

Test and Evaluation

 Provide security test and evaluation and test documentation support.Develop test documents.

 

Deliverable Preparation

 Prepare and/or update security deliverable to support daily activities.

 

Skills/Qualifications

Position requires experience in system security accreditation and maintenance, security test and evaluation of IT systems, and preparation of security related deliverables.  Position requires hands-on experience in running automated security scanning application software and scripts, and in conducting penetration testing of networked-based resources. Must posses a knowledge of security certification and accreditation requirements. Experience in INFOSEC/Risk Assessments, configuring and testing firewalls, wireless security, and LAN/WAN security desired.

 

 Associates or Bachelors degree and/or Industry Security Certification (CISSP, CISM, SANS) desired, but not required.

MUST POSSESS OR BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SECURITY CLEARANCE.
