Information Systems, Manager of Business Unit Liaison Melbourne, FL Job Code: CHQ02081014 Job Description : The Business Unit liason (BUL) position is intended to bridge the gap in understanding, language and communications between the business and IT. The job goes beyond the basic function of representing IT to the business; the BUL should strive to identify ways that the business units can use technology for competitive advantage. Partner strategically with the GCSD and HITS Division as the IS Business Unit Leader. Work closely with Director of GCSD EIT and HITS Manager of IT to provide well-conceived, joint IT services to the distributed user community. Participate in the leadership and re-design of enhanced IT service delivery across a wide range of remote HITS and GCSD locations Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and equivalent work experience, MBA preferred 5 - 10 years of management experience with direct staff, 5+ years of IT project management experience and 2+ years of experience in Services and in Information Technology with increasing responsibilities. Experience: Must be a charismatic and influential leader to the Business Unit, the IS Organization and the Executive Staff with strong analytical and negotiation skills Effective in influencing others and/or acting as an advocate for the division and the IS Organization Must understand newest practices and techniques for Collaborative Computing across geographies Must have exceptional communication skills at the Executive level, both oral and written, including strong presentation skills and experience Ability to understand business objectives, needs and skills Able to handle a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with an expanding remote emphasis Business thinking and strategic in order to define the IT priorities and IT vision for the business unit Must be a Leader versus a Manager Ability to manage and set expectations of the businesses in terms of project implementations, timelines, budgets and resources Prior experience managing a multi-million dollar budget Strong understanding of the internal customer’s processes, systems and management team By submitting your resume for this position, you understand and agree that Harris Corporation may share your resume, as well as any other related personal information or documentation you provide, with its subsidiaries and affiliated companies (including Harris Stratex Networks, Inc.) for the purpose of considering you for other available positions.
