Investment/Brokerage (testing phase) Business Analyst Consulting Engagement

Our client, a Fortune 100 financial institution requires a Business Analyst consultant with an understanding of all aspects of the investment consultant business specific to brokerage, both in the process and operations role, to work with the project lead. The consultant will serve as a business analyst focussing on the testing phas of this project. In addition to determining test scripts and providing general oversight of application testing and tracking changes the consulant will also work to help document business requirements. The client would strongly prefer some experience with either Thomson Beta, SEI Trust 3000, Performance Station, Checkfree APL(Legacy systems) and or Impact Investment Scorecard(the new system).
The project will be completed on site at the client's offices in downtown San Francisco. This project is expected to last 2-3 months(with a strong possibility of extension) and will require a 40/hr a week commitment. This will be paid on a W2 basis and willbe benefits eligible.

Responsibilities:
For a major financial services company, the technology group in the wealth management line of business has turned to M Squared for an Investment/Brokerage Business Analyst. The client team needs the contribution of a Business Analyst who understands the world of brokerage/trading including buy/sell side order entry, order placement, order execution, basket trading, swaps, rebalancing, portfolio modeling, trading compliance rules and trade status reporting. Excellence will be measured by rapidly delivering tools to the field and maximizing effectiveness through an understanding of the data, systems, business users, client needs and operational processes.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
• Document Business requirements & issues surrounding changes to existing and new applications as they relate to brokerage/trading.
• Determine test scripts that support testing of new system and its capabilities to provide capabilities equivalent to current systems used by investment advisors
• Provide oversight for application testing and assist with testing as needed to ensure equivalent capabilities of the new system as compared to the incumbent system.
• Provide oversight for Application Issues tracking log, manage the prioritization of issues/enhancements and escalation of fixes/changes.
• Facilitate weekly trading issues meetings.
• Enable communications between various business areas and technology team members and vendors.
• Manage all Application Change Request submission
Deliverables
Documentation of business requirements, facilitation of user acceptance testing including development of test scripts through all steps of the quality assurance process.
Industry Experience
Financial Services(brokerage or investment) experience required
Functional Experience
- Familiarity with all aspects of brokerage/trading is imperative
- Previous experience with Thomson Beta, SEI Trust 3000, Sunguard Performance Station and APL and/or Investment Scorecard systems a plus
- Knowledge of securities - stocks, bonds, mutual funds and separately managed accounts is a must
- Experienced in building test scripts incorporating Boolean theory
