About the Opportunity
The person filling this position will contribute to the sustaining, development and deployment activities of the existing performance reporting system and to the future MIS portal system development initiative.

Major work functions include:
gather functional requirements
design, code and test applications;
understand and participate in all phases of the systems life cycle;
use common software development processes;
respond quickly and efficiently to customer/user requirements; and
have a strong commitment to customer support.

The selected individual will also be involved in the investigation, analysis, and resolution of current application problems, and for advising management and peers on issues pertaining to application support.

Individual will be expected to work well independently and with a small development team, adhere to software engineering standards and processes (CMMI, Macroscope and application development process model) in accomplishing assigned tasks. Individual should be familiar with principles and practices of software configuration control, software quality assurance, and performance measurement to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction in the team's products and services. This position requires a proficiency in web-based applications. Required experience in Oracle and SQL. Proficient in the use of computer and web application development languages and environments including Java (applets, servlets and JSPs), JavaScript, HTML, XML, Unix and Windows.

Desired experience working with the following technologies & protocols:Visual BasicAutosys Apache/TomcatWeb ServicesPortols and portlet development

Experience with Client-Server based programming is a plus. Able to employ use cases, event diagrams, sequence and class diagrams in the design and development of applications. Ability to work in a lean, dynamic team environment and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
