Senior Java Developer 

 

The person in this role will be responsible for the technical selections and the design of an application that has direct customer impact and will be used by many of our customers.  In addition, this role will have the following responsibilities: 

 

Currently seeking a mid-to-senior level Java Developer.  Along with other members of the CDN development team, the person in this role will assist in the design and development of an application that has direct customer impact.  In addition, this role will have the following responsibilities:

 



 Design for scalability; create data models and UML diagrams as-needed.With other senior developers, determine best technologies and framework(s) for the applications. Plan development iterations and schedules.7+ years’ software development experience7+ years’ experience developing in Java for a Unix/Linux environmentExperience building OO systems using a structured methodology; experience in iterative development preferredExperience delivering products and components for a Unix/Linux environmentExperience with SOAP, XMLRPCExperience developing with open source frameworks such as Spring MVCExperience/knowledge with RDBMS – preferably MySQLExperience deploying applications to servlet containers such as TomcatExperience with technologies such as single sign-on, web clustering, load balancing, fault tolerance, firewalls, proxy servers, etc.Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, sockets, UDP, DNSKnowledge of internal functioning of web infrastructure components such as web servers, web application servers, domain name servers, etc.Ability and willingness to support a 24/7 research and production environment.
