Java J2EE Architect

We are looking for an J2EE Architect for a 3+ month project for our client located in Chicago, IL . 

Project Description:

Our client has an existing application that needs to be redesigned. They will be moving the data structures to DB2 (so if you have Data Modeling experience they will let you do the design of database too) and rewriting the web interfaces. This is planned to be a three month engagement. 

Some quick background: The existing system has an access database. The system was designed in the late 1990 period. There are many issues with this system, so the redesign is approved.

Requirements: Minimum of 8 plus years experience (programming and analysis) JAVA J2EE development preferred Strong SDLC experience in a web environment. Must be strong with UML (client will pass on anyone who does not have this skillset and we will need factual statement for this). Ability to construct design documentation with extensive UML diagramming. Excellent relational database technology skills including data modeling focused on a DB2 environment). Experience with business workflow. Experience with complex programming, program debugging, data analysis, problem analysis, data flow analysis and resolution issues within application systems. Must be self managed with leadership of others. Excellent communication skills (must be able to be able to work in non technical terms with the business community and all levels of the organization). Must be able to lead a team of developers as required as part of the solution. Conduct sessions/interviews with the business side to secure detailed information pertaining to application and data usage.  Ability to express complex technical concepts both verbally and written Architecture background Data modeling background (if you lack this apply anyhow because we know architects are not always doing data modeling).
