Junior Network Solutions Sales Engineer

We are seeking a junior Network Infrastructure Solutions Engineer to work closely with Align’s senior management, account management, and business development teams to engage with key customers. The Junior Sales Engineer will receive regular, frequent training and will be mentored by a Senior Network Solutions Architect (CCIE). The ideal candidate will have a basic, yet well-rounded technical knowledge foundation. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal l skills to successfully interact with customers in a selling context. Strong knowledge of the Cisco product line would also be helpful.
General Details: This position is for someone planning to begin or advance their career in technical pre-sales consulting.This position will attend client appointments with the sales team, and helping to scope and design technical solutions.This position will report to our New York City Office, but must be accessible to client’s through-out the NY Metropolitan Area.This is a full-time position offering full benefits, a competitive salary, paid training, and performance-based bonuses.
Primary Requirements:At least 1 year of IP network installation, support or engineering experience.Some prior Pre-Sales Engineering experience is ideal, but is not required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) level knowledge and understanding of networking technologies, design principles, and the practical application of routers and switches.Basic knowledge of Cisco products or competing products would be beneficial.
General Skills & Experience: A Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline is desiredCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is desired.Any experience gathering requirements or designing technical solutions is also beneficial, but not required. Some prior experience generating technical documents, proposals, product specifications, and responses to RFPs, RFIs or RFQs would be helpful.Any familiarity with IP Convergence including the design and implementation of IP Telephony (IPT) / Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions (CallManager, Unity, MeetingPlace, IPCC, or IPCC Express) is a plus.Some hands-on experience or knowledge of any of the following technologies or products: Security (ASA, Cisco Security Agent, NAC, VPN's), and/or Wireless experience (Aironet, Airespace, IPICS, and Outdoor Mesh) is preferred.
o Prior experience with the Cisco Multi-Line Configurator is a plus.Some basic knowledge and understanding of Client/Server technologies and the practical application of Windows Active Directory, Exchange, and other client/server platforms and applications.Knowledge of Microsoft products is also a plus.
Responsibilities:
o Work with the Sales, Business Development, and Engineering teams to provide pre and post sales support through requirements gathering, proposal development, cost-benefit analysis, and delivery of technical presentations.Participate in regular meetings and conference calls with clients and sales staff to help qualify opportunities and recommend technical solutions. Assist in generating technical documents such as proposals, product specifications, RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses, Visio diagrams, and hardware/software requirements (also known as Bill of Materials)
o Help create and deliver recommended network designs, technical proposals, and presentations to customers.
o Work with the sales and project management organizations to estimate Labor Hours for Professional Services work
o Support business development initiatives and help build relationships with local Cisco resourcesMeet with Align’s internal teams to perform basic knowledge transfer of the proposed solution prior to execution.
o Help support strategic, internal initiatives as needed
o Additional duties may include site surveys, system evaluation, system analysis, security analysis, and assessment of client network topology
